If you are a dog or cat owner the chances are you've probably heard about the latest CBD products for pets. Designed to help pets that suffer from anxiety, pain or any other health issues, our range of CBD treats are a great way to help improve the lives of your four legged friends.

You may find that it's difficult giving your cat or dog CBD in it's liquid form, which is why our CBD snackable treats are a fantastic alternative.

What is CBD for Pets?

If you're new to CBD, let's explain what it is and how it can help your pets.

CBD is an extract that comes from the flowers/buds of cannabis (marijuana or hemp plants). A common misconception is that it will produce the "high" that you would usually associate with marijuana, this is because it doesn't contain the chemical THC.

Just like humans, cats and dogs have an endocannabinoid system that allows them to benefit from the CBD, which you'll find in our pet treats. The daily intake of CBD can then help to relieve symptoms, ranging from anxiety and stress to chronic inflammation and joint pain.

Sometimes CBD can cause some adverse effects in cats, including some sedation and gastrointestinal upset. If this happens, you can relieve the effects by discontinuing use.

How Much CBD Can I Give My Pet?

At the moment there are no specific recommendation on how much CBD you can give your pet, or even humans. There are also no guidelines on how much CBD will help certain conditions. Our CBD dog treats from Hownd recomend between 1-5 treats per day depending on the size of your dog. If you're unsure, we recommend starting with a low dosage, test it for a weeks and see of you notice a difference in your dog. Again, you can always speak to local vet should you have any questions.
